Today, the indictment, brought by a Special Counsel, laid out 37 federal charges against former president Donald Trump, including obstruction and unlawful retention of defense information for storing dozens of classified documents at his Florida resort and refusing to return them to the FBI and the National Archives, has been dismissed (article available here).

“The Superseding Indictment is DISMISSED because Special Counsel Smith’s appointment violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution,” wrote U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who was appointed to the bench by the former president.
