Former U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite Jr. was confirmed Tuesday to lead the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Previous coverage available here.

Polite, 45, served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York from 2007 to 2010, and as the U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Louisiana from September 2013 to March 2017. After his run as New Orleans’ top federal prosecutor ended, Polite served as chief compliance officer for Entergy New Orleans and more recently as an attorney at a big law firm. He earned his bachelor's degree from Harvard University and his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
