Two federal death row inmates, William Emmett LeCroy and Christopher Vialva, are scheduled to be executed on September 22 and 24 respectively.

An organization in Missouri against the death penalty is planning protests across the state (article available here). Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (MADP) held a vigil and execution watch at the federal courthouse in Jefferson City on Sept. 22 at 12 p.m. Over the weekend in Indiana, where the executions take place, other groups protested the decision of execution and the death penalty law in the United States. Lauren Sobchak, an organizer with MADP, said they're working to put an end to executions and noted, "It's coming at a time that is unprecedented and now we've had five federal executions which is more federal executions than we have had in 57 years."
