Study Showing Disparities In License Suspensions Renews Call For Reform

A new study showing that driver's license suspensions in New Jersey disproportionately affect people of color and low-income residents has renewed a bipartisan call for reform (article available here). Researchers from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Brown University found that suspension rates were seven times higher for those who live in New Jersey’s lowest income neighborhoods and five times higher in areas with predominantly Black and Hispanic residents.
