Supreme Court Names New Reporter of Decisions

The Supreme Court announced on Monday that Rebecca Anne Womeldorf has been named the new reporter of decisions." She will be the 17th Reporter of Decisions and the second woman to hold the position."

Womeldorf, joins the Supreme Court from the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts where she served as chief counsel to the staff of the Rules Committee, will begin her new job on January 13, 2021.

The reporter of decisions plays an important behind-the-scenes role in the Supreme Court’s release of opinions. She prepares a summary, known as a syllabus, of each opinion; she also edits the opinions and oversees the process of publishing them in the United States Reports.
