Today the United States Sentencing Commission gave public notice that it will hold a public hearing for Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. (E.T.) to receive testimony from experts on fentanyl, fentanyl analogues, and synthetic cannabinoids, including their chemical structure, pharmacological effects, trafficking, and community impact.
In August 2017, the Sentencing Commission issued a notice request for public comment—which requires comments to be received no later than November 12, 2017—related to fentanyl and fentanyl analogues. is open until as part of its policy priority. The issues for comment are set forth in the notice.
