As we commemorate Juneteenth this year, we reflect on its profound significance in our nation’s history and in the lives of all those who have fought for freedom and equality. Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, marks the enduring legacy of emancipation and the ongoing journey toward justice for all.

The Training Division is honored to recognize and celebrate this profound day in American history.

This day holds immense significance, not only as a commemoration of freedom but also as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for civil rights and social justice. It is a time to reflect on our history, recognize the progress made, and renew our commitment to dismantling systemic racism and advocating for equal treatment under the law.

Defender Nation is dedicated to defending the rights of all individuals, and we take pride in supporting and representing many people of color who have been disproportionately affected by the criminal legal system. Juneteenth reminds us of the importance of our work and the enduring fight for liberty and justice for all.

To honor Juneteenth, we encourage everyone to engage in activities that foster understanding, awareness, and solidarity. This can include participating in local events, educating ourselves and others about the history and significance of Juneteenth, and reflecting on how we can contribute to a more just and equitable society.

Let us take this moment to celebrate the resilience, courage, and achievements of Black Americans and recognize the contributions of all who have played a role in advancing civil rights and social justice.

May this Juneteenth inspire us to continue our mission with renewed dedication to creating a fair and equitable legal system for all individuals we serve.
